We have already had sightings of spring wildflowers blooming and salamanders seeking out their breeding pools. When we add in the warm temperatures and recent rains, it feels as though we've skipped straight to spring without pausing in the middle of winter. Thomas_Cole_Homestead_sm 2

Whatever the weather, we hope that you can get out in the coming weeks to enjoy the river. Look for our spring wildflower hike schedule posted soon at enoriver.org and read below for information about history and geology hikes, spring and summer camp registrations, Eno inspired art exhibits, and opportunities to get outside and volunteer. There's sure to be something for everyone in our monthly Eno listings!

Source of the Eno Pilgrimage

2pm - In the Spring of 2000, Riverdave explored on foot the entire forty miles of the Eno River, including all its main tributaries. See: http://theborderlife.com/Source-of-the-Eno.php After careful delineation, he established that a farm pond, on the property of the Hoyt Wright Family in northern Orange County, to be the most distant source of the Eno River as measured from it's final outlet into Falls Lake. Every year since then Riverdave has led a pilgrimage to this special spot to renew our commitment to nourish and protect the Eno River. Directions will be posted at enoriver.org closer to the date. For more information email kathy@enoriver.org or call 919-620-9099 x204.
