The Friends of West Point

The Friends of West Point is a non-profit organization whose major goal is to protect and enhance West Point Park on the Eno River in Durham, North Carolina. West Point Park is a 388-acre city park located on the Eno River.

West Point Park is within Durham's city limits, just minutes from downtown Durham . The park lies adjacent to the Eno River State Park, making it a wonderful place for short day hikes.

The park's location along the Eno between Falls Lake State Recreation Area and Eno River State Park make it a great place to get out on the water.

In addition to all this, West Point on the Eno is located along a planned bicycle corridor that will connect to the American Tobacco Trail.

The objectives of the
Friends of West Point are:

  • To maintain the 388 acre West Point Park in cooperation with the City of Durham, North Carolina and other local organizations for development according to the Master Plan as a public park.
  • To facilitate the ability of groups and individuals to contribute to the establishment and maintenance of West Point Park by the contribution of money, time, and materials to the corporation.
  • To promote educational, environmental, conservation and other programs which are consistent with the concepts of neighborhood, regional and watershed planning, the Master Plan, and the Durham Wildlife Inventory document.
