Due to the impacts of Tropical Depression Chantal, several parks, preserves, and trails along the Eno River have been closed as staff work to assess and remediate the damage.

Holden Mill, Cox Mountain, Fanny’s Ford, Cole Mill, Bobbitt Hole, and the social trail between the bridge and the Ford

These areas will remain closed until the suspension bridge is repaired and staff can take vehicles across the Ford. Cox Mountain group camp and Fannys Ford campsites closed.

Pump Station Trail

Driveway access, shelter rentals, and trails

West Point on the Eno City Park*

Driveway Access: The driveway to the upper parking lot and McCown-Mangum House staff parking will be open.

Shelter Rentals: Both shelters are available for rental through October 31. Renters should park in the upper lot and carry in event supplies.

Restrooms: Restrooms remain closed for repairs; however, porta-johns are available along the sidewalk between the parking lot and the McCown-Mangum House.

River Access: Riverbank access is temporarily restricted while new grass seed is being established.

This is not a comprehensive list of closures. For more information on parks and preserves not managed by the Eno River Association (ERA), visit the website for each respective park or preserve.

While the ERA often works with sister organizations or agencies to steward lands throughout the watershed, we are not responsible for the closures of parks that are not owned by the ERA. Parks/preserves not owned nor managed by the ERA are indicated as follows:
