Today, the Eno River Association proudly honors Indigenous Peoples' Day, standing in solidarity with Indigenous communities across the country. We use this day to reflect on the profound cultural heritage, invaluable contributions, and enduring resilience of Indigenous peoples.

Our commitment goes beyond this day, as we remain dedicated to raising awareness and uplifting Indigenous voices in all aspects of our work and within our community. We invite everyone to seize this opportunity to deepen their understanding of the history, traditions, and ongoing impact of Indigenous communities.

Together, let us move forward with unity, respect, and a shared commitment to cultural understanding.

The Eno River Association has helped protect over

The Eno River Association has helped protect over 7,500 acres of open, natural space in the Eno River Basin since 1966. The Association and its partners responsibly manage these lands to conserve the unique values of each for the enjoyment of local community members and visitors alike. With over 55 miles of trails, river access, and recreation facilities, it provides our community with opportunities to seek solace, activity, and community in the great outdoors.

Two weeks ago, our very own Reema and Audrey repre

Two weeks ago, our very own Reema and Audrey represented the Eno River Association at Rally 2024 in Providence, RI! Rally is an annual gathering of passionate land conservation practitioners worldwide who are dedicated to preserving and conserving beloved places in local communities. In addition to networking and premier training, attendees participate in land conservation education and plenary sessions, as well as view captivating exhibits!

We are so proud of these two for the work they continue to do locally and globally! The Earth is something we all have in common! 🌍💧🌳

For over 60 years, the Eno River Association has c

For over 60 years, the Eno River Association has celebrated the tradition of guided group hikes led by passionate experts on the vibrant culture, deep history, and unique ecosystem of the river. We are enthusiastic to share that we will begin offering monthly drop-in hikes beginning later this year! For decades, this has become an opportunity to learn more about what makes the Eno what it is, and we could not be more thrilled to see how this opportunity will allow for deeper connections with members of the community and the river.

While these drop-in hikes will not require pre-registration, we are also excited to announce that at the beginning of the new year, there will be an opportunity to register for more focused, smaller group hikes that will occur on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. Stay tuned for more details on these, but for now, get excited to learn about the natural wonders and captivating stories of the Eno on a deeper level!

These additions to our hiking experiences would not be possible without the inspiration from our past volunteers who have made this program what it is today. We would like to recognize Bill Newton, a dedicated board member, photographer, and leader who played an influential role in the direction of the hiking program. His dedication and passion for the Eno River shined greatly in all he devoted to the ERA. Bill passed away on July 13th, 2023 but his legacy, like that of many of the Association's founding members, has and will continue to leave a lasting impact on our staff, Board, and volunteers today.
